In September, Dutch Greenhouse Delta, representing the Dutch horticultural cluster ‘NLHortiRoad2India,’ signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Indian grower Lemon Chilli Farms. This momentous event took place during a trade mission to Bengaluru, India, with the presence of the Dutch Prime Minister, Mark Rutte. Lemon Chilli Farms, located near Hyderabad, produces a variety of vegetables, herbs, and fruits, incorporating Dutch technology for sustainable production. In this MoU, both parties expressed their intent to implement innovative Dutch systems for sustainable food production in collaboration with the Indian grower. This partnership brings together the Dutch government and leading horticultural technology suppliers, focusing on the sustainable transformation of India’s emerging food markets. Cluster members Priva, Koppert, and Broekman Logistics also participated in this significant collaboration.
On October 3rd, the Netherlands horticultural sector is hosting the next edition of “Let’s Connect.” This event will explore the immense opportunities for Dutch horticulture in India’s rapidly evolving horticultural sector. Desh Ramnath from the Dutch Greenhouse Delta will lead the session, along with a panel of India experts from both within and outside the sector, where they delve into promising trends in the world’s fastest-growing economy.
