InnovationQuarter, located at Prinses Margrietplantsoen 41, 2595 AM The Hague, The Netherlands, is responsible for the processing of personal data as stated in this privacy statement. This statement applies to InnovationQuarter and to InnovationQuarter related websites (Uniiq.nl / Maritimedelta.nl / Digitalzh.nl / ROM-nederland.nl / Investinrotterdamthehaguearea.org / Economicboardzuidholland.nl).

The privacy statement was compiled in November 2024.

We process the following personal data

InnovationQuarter processes your personal data either because you use our services and/or because you shared them with us. Personal data is information that refers to you or that can be associated with you. You share your personal data if you have contact with us or use our services. Personal data could be your name, telephone number or email address.

We process the following personal data on our website and on the websites related to our organization.

• IP address / domain name.
• Details about your activities on our or InnovationQuarter related websites.
• First name and surname if filled out in one of our forms or in the QuickScan.
• Telephone number if filled out in one of our forms.
• Email address if filled out in one of our forms.
• Gender, date of birth and address if you are an InnovationQuarter client.
• General personal data that you share with InnovationQuarter if you are a current or prospective client, for example data related to the mandatory client check such as financial details and background information.

We only process the stated personal data if it is needed for one of our processing purposes. We only process the data that you supply. We do not receive personal data from third parties.

Special and/or sensitive personal data that we may process

In line with identification requirements, InnovationQuarter also processes special and sensitive personal data such as financial information, criminal records or criminal offences. We need this information to meet our legal obligations.

The purposes and reasons that we process personal data

InnovationQuarter processes personal data for the following purposes.

• To send requested information.
• To send newsletters when subscribed to (only to people that have explicitly given their permission through an opt-in).
• To send invitations for meetings and events that could be of interest that are organized or found by InnovationQuarter, or in which InnovationQuarter is involved. We process the registrations strictly confidentially and to enable us to provide our services.
• To run our services and evaluate and improve our service provision.
• To inform you of current and future activities and initiatives in which InnovationQuarter is involved that may be of interest.
• To inform you about any changes in our service provision.
• To improve the website and to better connect the range of information, products and services to the preferences of our visitors.
• To ensure that the recruitment and selection procedure of new employees runs properly and effectively.
• To meet legal requirements such as assessing and accepting clients, suppliers and business partners. These requirements are in line with the Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorist Financing Act (Wwft) and the Sanctions Act 1977 (Sw).

We do not process any more personal data than is needed for the intended purposes.

InnovationQuarter processes personal data in line with the following principles.

• If you have given permission.
• If it is needed to enter into or execute an agreement.
• If it is needed to meet legal requirements.
• If it is needed for our operations.
• If it is needed to carry out an activity for the common good.

InnovationQuarter informs you about the purpose and principle of the data processing, and will contact you if your information will be used for purposes other than those stated in the privacy statement, for example if the data processing may be considered for publication on our website as a news item and/or image registration for portrait rights.

In the above mentioned cases, we will always contact you before your personal data is used for a different purpose. We hereby inform you about our amended terms and conditions and give you the opportunity to refuse.

How long we keep personal data

InnovationQuarter does not keep your personal data any longer than is needed to meet the objectives for which your details were collected. We keep your details for the duration of our service provision, or longer if that is required by law. We uphold the following retention periods for certain processing procedures.

• Details that must be kept in line with tax laws: 5 years
• Details that must be kept in line with accounting requirements: 7 years
• Details that must be kept in line with the Wwft: 5 years

The personal data is deleted at the end of the retention period.

Sharing personal data with third parties

InnovationQuarter only passes personal data to third parties if this is necessary to provide services, and is only done so if legitimate, necessary, in the public interest, or to meet legal requirements.

We enter into a procedure agreement with companies that use your information and personal details on our behalf to ensure that the information is properly protected. InnovationQuarter remains responsible.

The consequences of not sharing personal data

Not sharing personal data may lead to InnovationQuarter being unable to carry out its service.

How we secure personal data

InnovationQuarter takes the protection of your details seriously and takes the appropriate technical and organizational measures to prevent the misuse, loss, unauthorized access to, unwanted publishing of and unlawful changes in the storage and processing of the data. We use appropriate system and network security measures such as firewalls and encryption. We use a separate data transfer software system for transferring confidential and/or sensitive information, and all our employees are required to handle personal data confidentially.

The cookies that InnovationQuarter uses are included in our cookie statement.

Social media

For its service provision, InnovationQuarter uses external platforms like X and LinkedIn. We would like to inform you that our use of these platforms does not affect the way in which they use your personal data. InnovationQuarter recommends not sharing any privacy sensitive information with these platforms.

Viewing, changing or deleting data

You have the right to see, change or delete your personal data. You also have the right to withdraw your permission, limit the processing, or object to InnovationQuarter’s data processing.

Please clearly state which right you are referring to. Be aware that in some cases we may need more information, such as a copy of your proof of identity, so that we are certain that we are dealing with the right person.

We will respond as quickly as we can, and definitely within four weeks, to your request.

We would also like to draw your attention to your right to lodge a complaint at the supervisory body in the Netherlands, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens (the Dutch Data Protection Authority).
