Coronet Ventures establishes Dutch base in Rotterdam, strengthening Zuid-Holland’s Life Sciences ecosystem

Coronet Ventures Netherlands, the Dutch venture arm of Cedars-Sinai Technology Ventures, has officially established its presence in Rotterdam. The move marks a significant milestone for Zuid-Holland’s Life Sciences & Health ecosystem and underlines the region’s growing appeal to leading international healthtech investors.

Rotterdam as a strategic gateway for health innovation

Rotterdam was selected as Coronet Ventures’ European base thanks to its strong clinical research environment, dense innovation network and direct access to pioneering startups and scaleups. From its location at CIC Rotterdam, Coronet Ventures will build closer links between Dutch innovators and the U.S. healthcare market, accelerating the path from research to real-world impact.

James D. Laur, JD, President of Cedars-Sinai Intellectual Property Company and Chairman of the Board of Coronet Ventures shares:

“A base in Rotterdam places us at the heart of a dynamic Dutch health innovation community. This location allows us to deepen collaborations, support mission-driven founders, and build strong bridges to the U.S. healthcare ecosystem through Cedars-Sinai, all with the shared goal of advancing transformative solutions for patients.”

Strong collaboration across the regional ecosystem

The arrival of Coronet Ventures in Rotterdam has been made possible through a strong collaboration between the Municipality of Rotterdam, Erasmus MC, Erasmus Enterprise, CIC Rotterdam, Invest in Holland, Rotterdam Square and InnovationQuarter.

“The arrival of Coronet Ventures in the Netherlands is a major boost for our Life Sciences & Health ecosystem. Having a U.S. venture fund with such deep clinical and technological roots physically present in Zuid-Holland accelerates connections between Dutch innovators and the American healthcare market. It also clearly shows that our region is internationally recognized as a place where science, entrepreneurship and health technology come together to scale towards global impact.”
