Dutch companies join Sustainable Building & Energy Systems trade mission to Nordics
In June 2022, ten Dutch companies specializing in sustainable construction and urban energy systems participated in a trade mission to Sweden and Denmark organized by InnovationQuarter, FME, and RVO.
Frontrunners in sustainable future
These Nordic countries have ambitious goals for reducing energy consumption in the construction and renovation sectors, with Denmark aiming to become the world’s first carbon-neutral capital by 2025 and Sweden targeting a 50% reduction in emissions by 2030.
These goals create opportunities for Dutch companies that offer energy-saving technologies, as outlined in a market report on Sustainable Building Opportunities in Sweden and Denmark.
Innovative countries joining forces
The Netherlands, Denmark, and Sweden are all known for their innovation and leadership in pursuing a sustainable future, and collaborating on solutions for the built environment and energy systems can help achieve this goal.
Over the past year and a half, there has been strong interest in collaborating with Dutch technology providers in both Denmark and Sweden. Several events have brought Dutch companies into contact with potential partners and customers in these countries.
Fostering innovative communities
The physical trade mission in June 2022 provided an opportunity for Dutch companies to deepen their relationships with businesses and innovation communities in Copenhagen, Malmö/Lund, and Helsingborg. This visit aimed to strengthen and expand the existing connections between the Dutch, Swedish, and Danish business and innovation communities.
