Advanced Composite producer Arceon receives an investment from SecFund and Tenzing Alpha. The Delft-based company produces the carbon composite \u2018Carbeon\u2019 for rocket and satellite systems. With Carbeon, producers of space systems can improve the performance of these systems and shorten delivery times.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Carbeon is lighter, stronger, and more resistant to extreme temperatures. Thanks to a smart production process \u2013 where the material is made in one step instead of multiple cycles and Arceon uses unique silicon-infiltration techniques \u2013 Carbeon can also be delivered faster. This allows producers to work faster on the next generation of space systems, such as hypersonic rockets and more effective satellites.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

ISS<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Arceon was founded in 2018 by a team with extensive experience in composites and aerospace technology. Since then, the material has been extensively tested multiple times by renowned research institutions and space organizations such as ESA, including in extreme conditions like a mission to the International Space Station (ISS). The company is now making the step from R&D to commercial scaling.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dual use<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The SecFund focuses on dual-use companies. These are companies that develop products or services that can be applied in both the civil and defense sectors. Carbeon is suitable for both civil aerospace applications and defense systems. Think of satellites, rockets, and hypersonic systems. This broad applicability makes the technology strategically relevant for Europe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The SecFund is a collaboration between the Ministry of Defence, the Ministry of Economic Affairs, and the regional development agencies (ROMs). The execution of this fund with national coverage is entrusted to the Brabantse Ontwikkelings Maatschappij (BOM) in collaboration with the other ROMs. This investment follows an early-stage financing from UNIIQ.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
