Concord Neonatal receives seed capital from UNIIQ to give preterm babies a better start

Startup Concord Neonatal BV has received a capital injection of €300,000 from UNIIQ investment fund for the development of Concord, an innovative delivery table. With Concord, a neonatologist can provide life-saving care in the first critical minutes after birth without having to cut the umbilical cord first. The investment was announced by Alexandra van Leeuwen director Facilitair Bedrijf at LUMC.

Seven countries at one table – successful kick-off event for Interreg project Codex4SMEs

The project partners met in Stuttgart for the kick-off meeting on 29 and 30 January 2018. A great deal was discussed on these two days and key points regarding project progression were clarified. On the second and final day – the official part of the event, which was also attended by several small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) from the region – two excellent keynote speeches really aroused people’s interest.

IMSystems receives €300,000 growth capital from UNIIQ

Innovative high-tech startup IMSystems, spin-off of the TU Delft, received a € 300.000 investment from UNIIQ. This news was announced by Theun Baller, dean of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at TU Delft during the YES!Delft new years drinks. IMSystems develops the Archimedes Drive, a speed reducer that uses frictional contact instead of gears to transmit force. The investment enables IMSystems to already enter the market with an optimized product this year.

Record number of foreign companies invest in The Hague

In 2017, 54 foreign companies opened an office or expanded their business in The Hague. This was accomplished with the assistance of The Hague Business Agency and InnovationQuarter, the acquisition partners of the City of The Hague. These companies are expected to create 788 new jobs within three years and invest a total of 60 million euros in the city.

Foreign Direct Investment in 2017 accounted for more than 12,500 jobs in the Netherlands

Through foreign direct investment 357 foreign companies, including Netflix, Merck Performance Materials and Jellice, generated 12,686 additional jobs in the Netherlands last year contributing 1.67 billion euros to the Dutch economy. These impressive results are credited to the Invest in Holland collective, which consists of the Netherlands Foreign Investment Agency (NFIA), an operational unit of the Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate Policy, together with various regional partners.

The Netherlands in Top 10 in Global Talent Competitiveness Index 2018

The Netherlands ranked 9th internationally in attracting, developing and retaining talent, according to the Global Talent Competitiveness Index 2018. The Dutch cities Amsterdam, The Hague and Rotterdam ranked respectively 11th, 27th and 34th. The index is published by INSEAD, the Business School for the World, in partnership with the Adecco Group and Tata Communications.

Dutch tech improves lives at largest electronics fair CES

Toxys and Omnigen receive MIT grant

Toxys and Omnigen have received a MIT grant for the development and extension of the ToxPlot software for animal-free chemical safety testing. With this grant, the ToxPlot analysis tool will be further developed to allow quantitative and hypothesis-free toxicity profiling of novel chemicals. Currently, ToxPlot is primarily used as an in-house tool at Toxys for data-analysis of ToxTracker results
