Dutch cybersecurity cluster boosts US visibility with successful RSA Conference mission

A group of 30 Dutch organizations participated in a cybersecurity trade mission to San Francisco's RSA Conference & Exhibition from April 23-28. The delegation had a productive week filled with networking, matchmaking, and knowledge-sharing events organized by various entities, including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Rijksdienst voor Ondernemend Nederland (RVO), InnovationQuarter, dcypher and Security Delta (HSD). As the Netherlands is recognized as the digital gateway to Europe, cybersecurity is a top priority for the country. By collaborating globally and participating in renowned conferences like the RSAC we can all work towards building a safer online environment.

For the fifth consecutive year, a delegation from the Netherlands participated in the RSA Conference, the world’s largest cybersecurity conference. Vice Minister emphasizes Dutch government commitment to cybersecurity

The mission began with a warm welcome at the Residence of the Consul General in San Francisco, followed by the official kickoff the next morning led by Peter Potman.

Vice minister Potman: “The Dutch government is committed to supporting the growth of the cybersecurity sector through investment in research and development and collaboration with the private sector. Our presence at RSAC provides an unparalleled opportunity for our security experts to engage with a global audience of tech entrepreneurs, investors, and media professionals who share our commitment to digital security. We look forward to connecting with potential partners and showcasing the innovative technologies that Dutch companies are bringing to the table.”

Networking and collaboration opportunities for Dutch cybersecurity firms in San Francisco

During the cybersecurity trade mission to San Francisco, in addition to attending the RSA Conference & Exhibition, the participating organizations also took part in the ECSO Networking Night, which brought together over 200 cybersecurity stakeholders including European founders, US-based buyers and investors, European investors, industry leaders, and ecosystem representatives.

InnovationQuarter and Enterprise Europe Network Nederland also organized CyberMatch 2023, which facilitated matchmaking opportunities, resulting in 140 profiles created by cybersecurity experts from 20 nationalities and 70 successful meetings, supported by 11 regional offices of EEN.

To promote knowledge sharing, an NL Talks event was organized by Security Delta (HSD), Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Consulate General San Francisco. The event focused on the question “Turning the Dutch National Cyber Strategy into real action. How to measure progress in cyber resilience?” Several speakers shared their views on how the goals outlined in the NIS2 directive could be achieved.
