Bigger and better: Enlit Europe 2024
Enlit Europe stands as the cornerstone event for Europe’s energy transition, where InnovationQuarter once again successfully organized the Netherlands pavilion in 2024. This year, the Netherlands pavilion was bigger and better. We showcased innovative solutions from 33 Dutch companies and organizations, specializing in areas like smart grids, energy trading, digitization, battery storage, cybersecurity and more.
This year’s event also marked an expanded collaboration with partners from other regional development agencies and offered deepened insights for participating companies into international markets. Watch the aftermovie to see how entrepreneurs experienced Enlit 2024.
Market insights
This year’s event in Milan included a comprehensive program developed in collaboration with the Consulate General in Milan. The program provided Dutch businesses with critical insights into the Italian energy market, which were experienced as highly beneficial by participants. Highlights of the event included exclusive presentations from Italian energy leaders ENEA, Eni, and Enel, along with networking opportunities at the Dutch embassy that facilitated valuable industry connections.
International exposure
The Netherlands Pavilion offered a platform for participants to expand their networks, explore innovations in Italy, and engage with global companies. It significantly enhanced international visibility through interactions with major European energy players such as EDF, TotalEnergies, and Vattenfall, opening up new trading opportunities. Additionally, the pavilion enabled stronger ties with international clusters such as Think Smartgrids, Flux50, and the Lombardy Energy Cleantech Cluster, setting the stage for future collaborative projects, including a planned visit by a French cluster to the Netherlands in early 2025.
Entrepreneurs rated their participation in this trade mission on average as 8.86. Nearly two-thirds of the participants expect to sign a contract as a result of the mission, and 91% are eager to participate again in an activity with a similar set up next year.
Netherlands pavilion: an expanded collaboration
In previous years, InnovationQuarter was the sole Trade & Innovate NL partner to take on this initiative. This year, the partnership expanded to include Amsterdam Trade & Innovate, Rotterdam Partners, ROM Utrecht Region and RVO as co-organizers. The Enterprise Europe Network (EEN) also played a crucial role in setting up matchmaking opportunities, while the partnership with Stichting Dutch Power was continued. The growing involvement of these partners has helped in increasing the size of the pavilion and the number of participating companies, thereby solidifying the Netherlands’ role as a leader in smart energy solutions in Europe.
Enlit Europe 2025
InnovationQuarter actively contributes to developing a future-proof economy that is healthy, green and smart and secure. It’s essential to integrate smart solutions in energy transition across various sectors. We strive to connect Dutch companies with key organizations in the EU and beyond.
